The leaders arrived Friday evening to set up camp and the sensory tent which includes fibre optic lights and large games.
This year we invited young people from local special needs schools to join us for the weekend camp. We had 8 scouts and 8 school young people.
The young people arrived Saturday and were paired up with a leader or helper.
During the weekend the young people were split into groups (patrols). They took part in Abseiling, Crate Staking, Archery and Air Riffles.
Saturday afternoon the group made fires from wood they had collected around the site. They cooked camp donuts and marshmallows.
Sunday the group used the Scout minibus to take everyone to Tenpin Bowling at Bowthorpe. Everyone had 2x games and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Sunday evening the group had a joint campfire with 2nd Wymondham Guides. Each patrol helped perform a song.
We were lucky enough to have a team of cooks over the weekend preparing our meals and washing up – we are very grateful and the meals were delicious!!
The school young people enjoyed themselves so much that we have recruited some into the Scout group.
